Thorax diagnostic workstation This workstation is for diagnosis with the help of x-rays. It is equipped with two 3-megapixel diagnostic monitors (portrait mode, greyscale) from EIZO and an RIS colour monitor and offers all functionalities required for diagnosis. RIS and workstation are synchronised for each new patient. The system allows teleconferencing with other PACS workstations and web viewers from CHILI. |

Slice diagnostic workstation This workstation is equipped for diagnosis on the basis of slice images. The software also includes an MPR-plugin for multi-plane reconstruction of slice images. In addition, the system also comprises two 2-megapixel diagnostic monitors (portrait mode, greyscale) from EIZO and an RIS colour monitor. In particular, the new hanging functions provide support for the radiologist. The hanging-editor allows the user to define private or global hangings. |

Demonstration workstation The demo workstation is used in the clinical demonstration of diagnosis. The images from the connected monitors are either projected onto a wall for data projectors or connected to large TFT displays. During the demonstration, the images are displayed from prepared demo folders, which can be created at all diagnostic workstations and at web workstations. Diagnosis-relevant images can be explicitly highlighted and non-relevant images masked. The hanging image can also be prepared for the demonstration.

Autoimporter The CD/DVD Auto Importer is a robot system with control software that automatically reads patient CDs or DVDs in DICOM format and sends the data to a workstation or the PACS using the DICOM protocol. The medium handling is fully automated.

Import/export workstation On one hand, this special workstation allows third-party data to be imported, e.g. from patient CDs or scanned-in x-ray films, and then integrated and adjusted to the specific in-house IT structures. On the other hand, patient CDs can be burned to DICOM standard at the export workstation. This is possible either with the local burner drive or with the help of a burn robot. For our demonstration of this workstation, we use a Vidar scanner and a Primera burn robot.

Surgical console The surgical console is a web-based workstation based on special systems for operating theatres, is compliant with the relevant standards DIN EN 60601-1, DIN EN 60601-1-1 and DIN EN 60601-1-2 and equipped with an ergonomic and fully disinfectable keyboard. We demonstrate the CHILI software on a multiconsole manufactured by S-Cape. The CHILI/Java Standalone software can store the images relevant for the operating theatre in an offline cache, so that medical personnel are independent of server and network downtimes while performing surgery.

Image distribution CHILI/Web is a web-based, platform-independent image-viewing and teleconferencing software program for all workstations inside and outside the clinic. It is a medical product of Class IIb, displays the images in full DICOM quality and can also be used for diagnosis with the corresponding DIN-compliant diagnostic monitors. The special feature is that CHILI/Web can also be used for teleradiology in compliance with the X-Ray Ordinance. For example, this allows the teleradiologist to view images from home for the purpose of diagnosis, and doctors admitting their patients to hospitals can view the images or upload preliminary examinations.

Teleradiology Teleradiology is an integral part of the CHILI-PACS and all workstations. The teleradiology gateway makes any third-party PACS available for teleradiology. Teleradiology with CHILI conforms to the X-Ray Ordinance, to international standards (DICOM, HL7, IHE) and to the German minimum standard of the DRG with DICOM-E-Mail. The teleradiology systems are tested for compliance with standard DIN 6868-159 during commissioning. During operation, the user can perform consistency testing for teleradiology with the TR statistical module and document it for the supervisory authority.

Telemedicine Record In addition to the simple communication of DICOM images, the CHILI Telemedicine Record provides a web-based platform for the exchange of multimedia documents (e.g. diagnoses, non-DICOM-compliant images). Other information can also be entered and managed in individually configurable forms and thus exchanged between co-operation partners beyond the borders of the individual sectors.
