Thorax diagnostic workstation This workstation is used for diagnosis of X-ray images. It is fitted with two EIZO 3 megapixel diagnostic monitors (portrait & gray scale) for diagnostics as well as an RIS color monitor and offers all of the functions required for diagnosis. The RIS and the workstation are synchronized between patients. The system is capable of teleconferencing with other PACS workstations and web viewers. |

Image slice diagnostic workstation This workstation is set up for diagnosis of image slices. The software includes an additional MPR plugin for the reconstruction of image slices. It also has two EIZO 2 megapixel diagnostic monitors (landscape & color) as well as an RIS color monitor in addition to the system. The new hanging functions are especially helpful to the radiologist. The hanging editor allows the user to define private or global hangings themselves. |

Demonstration workstation The demo workstation is used for demonstration of clinical diagnosis. The images from the monitors connected to the workstation are either projected by an OHP or displayed on a large TFT display. The images from prepared demo folders are displayed during the demonstration. These can be compiled from all of the diagnostic workstations on the system as well as from workstations on the web. Images that are relevant to the diagnosis can be explicitly marked and irrelevant images can be hidden. |

Auto Importer The CD/DVD Auto Importer is a robot system with control software that automatically reads patient CDs or DVDs in DICOM format and sends the data to a workstation or the PACS using the DICOM protocol. The medium handling is fully automated. Optionally, it is also possible to scan the CDs/DVDs for viruses. |

Import/Export workstation On one hand, this special workstation allows the import of third-party data, e.g. from patient CDs or X-ray films that have been scanned-in, as well as integration and adjustment of this data to the local IT structures. On the other hand, patient CDs can be burned in accordance with the DICOM standard on an export workstation. This can either be done with a local CD/DVD burner or using a burning robot. At this workstation we will demonstrate this process with a Vidar scanner and a Primera burning robot. |

Surgical console The surgical console is a web-based workstation based on special systems for operating theaters, is compliant with the relevant standards DIN EN 60601-1, DIN EN 60601-1-1 and DIN EN 60601-1-2 and is equipped with an ergonomic and fully disinfectable keyboard. We will demonstrate the CHILI software on an S-Cape multiconsole. The CHILI/Java Standalone software can store the images relevant in the operating theater in an offline cache, so that medical personnel are independent of the server and network during surgery. |

Image distribution CHILI/Web is a web-based, platform-independent image viewing and teleconferencing application for all workstations inside and outside the hospital. It is a Class IIb medical product, displays the images in full DICOM quality and can also be used for diagnosis with the corresponding DIN-compliant diagnostic monitors. The special thing about it is that CHILI/Web can also be used for teleradiology in accordance with the X-Ray Ordinance. This allows teleradiologists to view images from home for diagnostic purposes, for example, and referring physicians can view the images or upload preliminary examinations. |

Quantitative image analysis for optimization of cancer treatment At the GRC CHILI will present the integration of the expert system mint LesionTM made by the Heidelberg company Mint Medical in CHILI products. mint LesionTM assists radiologists and oncologists in evaluating the effectiveness of cancer treatment. Based on the evaluation of medical image data, it provides immediate feedback on if and how well individual patients or patients participating in clinical studies respond to a specific treatment. |

Teleradiology Teleradiology is an integral part of CHILI PACS and all of the workstations. The teleradiology gateway allows any third party PACS systems to be made teleradiology capable. Teleradiology using CHILI system complies with the X-Ray Ordinance, international standards (DICOM, HL7, IHE) and the German minimum standard specified by the German Radiology Society (DRG) with DICOM e-mail. The teleradiology systems are subject to acceptance testing iaw. DIN 6868-159 on commissioning. While in operation, the user can perform constancy checks for the teleradiology using the teleradiology statistics module and document this for the regulatory authorities. |

Telemedicine Record In addition to simply sending DICOM images, the CHILI Telemedicine Record provides a web-based platform for exchanging multimedia documents (e.g. diagnoses, non-DICOM-compliant images). Other information can also be entered and managed in individually configurable forms and thus exchanged between cooperation partners beyond the borders of the individual sectors.
