Teleradiology Faces Ultimate Test on World's Largest Island
Chicago, USA, Nov. 30, 2006: Dr. Uwe Engelmann, senior research scientist at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, Germany, and one of the three founders and owners of the CHILI GmbH in Heidelberg, Germany, presented a scientific paper about CHILI's Greenland project in the session "Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise" of the RSNA conference 2006 in Chicago, USA. A CHILI-based teleradiology system has been established in this project to connect all hospitals of Greenland. As a result all images which have been produced in Greenland are available in all hospitals of the island. Challanges of this project were frequent power cuts and interruptions in the internet connections due to the climatic conditions of the island. Developing a robust solution which can be used and even repaired by IT-laities was another aim of the project. The CHILI Teleradiology Solution has been integrated with HIS/RIS/PACS solution of Medos AG (Langenselbold, Germany and MEDOS Skandinavien A/S, Hovedgaard, Denmark). Medos acted as a prime contractor in this project. The Daily Bulletin of RSNA published in it's issue of Nov. 30, 2006 an article about Dr. Engelmann's talk at the RSNA conference in Chicago
